Here's a trivia question for the ages. Which college football team had FOUR count em four coaches on their staff that won national titles? This is at the same time! The answer is Michigan State. Not Alabama, Southern Cal, Michigan, or any of the legendary programs in the sport. They were head coach Biggie Munn, his protege and successor Duffy Daugherty, Dan Devine and the great Bob Devaney. THIS HAD TO BE THE GREATEST COACHING STAFF EVER ASSEMBLED!! If anyone knows any college head coach that can make that claim, please write in a comment. Biggie Munn had to be the greatest judge of coaching talent the world has ever known. Including his plucky fireplug of a tackle Frank Kush. An overachiever par excellence. Had a college football playoff existed then Kush's Sun Devils probably would have added to the legacy of that Sequoia sized coaching tree. Kush having succeeded his mentor Dan Devine at Arizona State. Give a corporation that type of braintrust and they would outrank Microsoft on the Fortune 500!! Frank Kush is a true legend of the sport. And worthy of mention with any of the college games greatest coaches.

I recently watched a 16 mm video of Michigan State playing Notre Dame in East Lansing. The 1952 Spartans were undisputed national champions led by a fireplug at tackle named Frank Kush. At only 5-9 and 180 pounds Kush was a terror from the opening whistle. He would consistently burrow submarine style beneath the Notre Dame linemen to avoid being overpowered by their brute size. It was a clinic in the use of leverage and speed to outmaneuver an opponent. Kush used that same tenacity to transform Arizona State into a national power. His drive and will to win were rivaled by few men in any sport. Kudos to Frank Kush for rising from the coal mines of Pennsylvania to national prominence in the game he loved.

I think Arizona should do a hybrid mixture between the 2007-2015 era uniforms (which I think those are underrated) and the current ones. Basically keep the backs of the uniforms the same, but bring back the font from that last era, there was something about that style that felt great to me as far as how it looked. Also bring back that D logo, could be used as a cap on them and be a secondary or tertiary logo as well, although I think would make a great secondary but they still keep the other one.
